About DressMe

Anne Hamlyn is no ordinary wardrobe consultant. Trained as a sculptor, she has a PhD in visual culture and has taught theories of gender and psychoanalysis to students of Fine Art, Design and Textiles. She is also a lifelong lover of fashion and had worked as a stylist and buyer for both retail and private clients for more than ten years.

"I always try to encourage an intelligent approach to fashion. Of course body shape, colour and current trends matter, but ‘Style’ is not about learning to dress to a formula. That is why I prefer to call myself a ‘dresser’ than a stylist. My clients are fashion aware, but they are not fashion victims, they have style, but they are not necessarily innately stylish. It’s just with my help they each get what they want from their clothes and they make it look effortless.”
